Three Crackers
Dan has been using the proper jobs in conjunction with either a nutty or fishmeal food bait which is sold in the tackle shop where he works. He very kindly sent in these photos of three cracking looking carp that he banked using the proper jobs to balance his bottom bait offerings.

Patience Pays Off
Shane Poole has been out again and working hard to get a result. Here's what Shane had to say about his session:
Hi Kevin
As promised, here's some more news/feedback from my last session.
Well this session was to coincide with the wettest weekend I've been out in for a  while, with a nice low pressure moving in on the first morning, bang on for a good autumn feed up I thought as I was rubbing my hands with excitement. How wrong was I going to be? I had a good walk around the lake and found fish in three different areas and opted to set up on the group which were active and having a dig around. The rods were already primed with rigs ready for the assault and were quickly cast to the area where the fish were showing. I spodded out a good bucket of particle with crushed a whole boilies in as well and set up camp for the next three days. Twenty four hours passed without so much as a liner, but lots of rain. I reeled in when the rain broke and had a walk around in search of the fish but found nothing, so I opted to stay on the baited area as sometimes they take a couple of days to get on the bait. Forty eight hours passed and still nothing and the lake looked dead. I persevered with the baited area and was putting more spod out to freshen it up. Seventy two hours in and I was scratching just  for a sign of a fish, let alone a bite. I was standing in my swim watching the water when I noticed a small fizz appear on the surface, this only lasted about five minutes and then the fish appeared to have gone, at this point I flicked out the marker and had a good feel around and found a five foot deep hump about the size of a dustbin lid with nine foot of water around it. I was like a kid in a sweet shop at this point. I tied a fresh combi-rig and baited it with two pieces of maize (one red and one yellow) and tipped these with a squid & octoplus Tip. One cast was all that was needed as it was bag on, I then cast twenty spods of particle over the small area and sat down full of excitement. I now had two rods left on the original baited area and the third on the new spot, so I decided to go and have a cuppa with my mate in the next swim, I was sitting there when I heard a full blown take and ran back to my swim, once in the swim I leaned into a fish, but it had weeded me up behind the hump. The boat shout was given and in about two minutes my mate was there with the boat and lifejackets ready to go. We paddled out the short distance and got above the fish and up it come straight away and then it decided to tow us around for the next ten minutes until it finally tired and my mate slipped the net under it. I was so relieved that I had finally nailed one and it was unbelievable that the new rod had only been on the spot for an hour and to cap it off, the fish was a pukka common that weighed in at 32lbs 08oz. I finished the session off with a 20lbs mirror and a mid double stocky from the area I had been baiting for three days. The last two fish were taken on snowman rigs incorporating either devils dung or squid & octoplus pop ups.
As usual, I would just like to say your pops are top gear mate and it helps so much knowing they are doing the job that's required.
Proper jobs for proper angling, nuff said
Hard work/perseverance and good observation paid dividends in the end mate. Top result and well deserved.

 Big Commons
Mark Young has been doing very well on his local syndicate over the last year. He has managed to catch nearly all the lakes largest residents with several recaptures under his belt. Mark took advantage of the "Bespoke Service" and I run him off a batch of  copy_th.jpg) pop ups using a cocktail of flavours to produce a bait with a unique attractor package, as using something different from the rest of the syndicate can be a distinct advantage (especially so on very pressured waters) when the going gets tough!!! Here's a couple of pictures of two of the lakes big commons which to a liking to the proper jobs.

 Ye of Little Faith
New Proper Job user Andrew Gibbens was unconvinced of the effectiveness of the proper jobs, but it didn't take long before he changed his mind! Here's what Andrew had to say about his first experience:
I don't know if you remember when I said a friend of mine had given me 5 x white, 15mm, Squid & Octoplus pop ups. Well I went fishing Saturday night and fished these on two rods and my normal fishmeal wafter on the third rod. Night time came and went and I was certainly not convinced about the new baits. It was 7:30 in the morning and I was having a cup of tea, then bugger me, my chod with your white pop up on at 110 yards roared off. "I was in". The fish kited sixty yards up the lake and after a ten min scrap it was in the net. I was elated, 26 pounds of pristine common with its curtain still intact and most likely never been out before. The lake I fish is about 140 acres in size with a low stocking of carp and it's difficult to say the least, but I can tell you "NOW I'm very convinced".

New proper job user Nathan Britton was extra keen to get on the bank and give the proper jobs a go and he didn't have to wait very long to bag one! Here's a copy of the email Nathan sent in:
Hi mate. Cheers for the great service and delivery speed. The pop ups are awesome. Put a holiday in for the next day when I found out they had arrived, had to give them a go. I sent one out on one of my rods as a single that night after work and it ripped off at 6am the following morning with a proper northern (Cumbria) 28lb 10oz mirror.

And Another Forty + Common
 David Moncaster very kindly sent me this picture of his latest result. This is Dave’s forth common over the forty pound mark and two of these forties have been caught with the aid of a proper job. Dave presented and done the business with one of Geoff Bowers food baits which had been topped with an 11mm, white, savoury crab pop up to balance the bottom bait and the common shown pulled the needle on the scales around to 42lbs 11oz.
Congratulations on the capture of yet another magnificent beast and fingers crossed it won’t be long before number 5 comes along.

Five Bites at First Light
Shane Poole hasn’t been able to get out on the bank much of late, but he did manage to slot in a 24 hour session and here’s a copy of Shanes email telling how his session turned out.

Sorry for the lack of feedback lately, I have just moved house and been away on holiday, so fishing has taken a back seat of late.
But I did manage to sneak out this month and done a quick 24hrs session where I managed 5 bites at first light. I got down the lake on a Saturday morning at first light and had a good walk around. I spotted some fish at long range and opted for the swim where they were showing. I know the swim pretty well and knew they were showing over a silt bed, so I put 3 squid and octo stiff hinge rigs out to the silt bed at about 110 yards and spodded out about 2 kilos of chopped and whole free offering in  a fairly large area. The day was uneventful, but they were still in the area as the odd fish was showing in and around the baited spot. I got my head down early that night as I was tired from work and knew that I could be up at around 4am for a take. Bang on time, one rod was away at the golden hour and I landed a upper double stocky, as I was playing this fish I could see there was plenty of fish showing over the area and knew a few more were coming my way. I left this rod out of the water and in 15 mins another rod was away and another double was rolling over the net cord. Now I was down to one rod and after half an hour this was away, but the hook pulled after a short battle. There were still fish having it so I put all 3 rods back out and put another few spods of bait out and at about 7am I had a double take with the biggest being this lovely 29.10 mirror.
Hopefully I will be out a bit more this autumn and early winter with some more feedback. Again, I can’t recommend your pop ups enough. Great job mate.

David’s First French Experience
David Benfield took his first venture over to France in early July this year (2012) and he very kindly sent through a few pictures of the carp coming his way during his stay. Dave fished a small private water in the Champagne region and all fish fell to Beige, Squid & Octoplus pop ups fished on a chod rig which had been presented over a bed of food baits.

Hi Kevin
Just wanted to say thanks for the pop ups you make. I have been struggling on a tricky new syndicate this year, until I was given the nod, re: your baits. Since using them I have caught 2 x 30’s and numerous 20’s without blanking!! I’ve mainly been using your Squid & Octoplus tips either on their own in a bag or tipping off my own fishmeal bait, but the Banana tips have also worked very well with a sweet birdfood bait.
Absolutely perfect baits mate. Thank you.

Pineapple Tips Do the Business Again!!!

You may recall October 2010 I caught my French PB 69lb 2oz on your Pineapple tips? Well, I haven’t stopped using them and this week they done the business again with my new UK PB Mirror @ 38.04 (attached) + 8 other carp to 29lbs all caught using PJP’s.
 I have to say that your pop ups are unlike anything else on the market – they are quite simply brilliant! I’ve been using the Pineapple and Banana tips on every balanced rig I cast out. The tips balance the 14mm bottom baits I use perfectly and I believe they give me a real edge + *total confidence*.
I’ll be putting in another order soon to add to the ten pots of various shapes and flavours I already have. I only wish I could order matching standard baits to compliment your pop ups.....

As promised, my feedback on your baits.
 A magenta, spicy liver sausage barrel shaped pop up combined with a white, squid tip on a chod rig fished over a spot baited with dark fishmeal dumbbells did the trick for me. After 5 hours of angling, I landed one of our old beauties at 40lbs 8oz. Pic attached.
Great bait, float like hell.

Keeping it in the family
 My young nephew Todd Heal and brother Richard had a very busy day session on the 37 acre Shear Water Lake. Fishing with half a yellow chocolate malt pop up over a dozen or so freebies they managed to land forty carp to 16lbs. After such an eventful day they decided to return to the venue the following day to see if their run of success would continue. The following day they returned to the venue and this time they were also accompanied by Bradley Heal (another nephew) and fished the exact same tactics which this time produced forty two carp for their efforts. Needless to say, all three of them were completely knackered after their nonstop action.
Job done boys!!!

A Tip Does the Business
 Trevor used a single Tip which was mounted on a KD rig and presented in the margins over a small patch of bait and this tactic proved the downfall of the 39lbs 07oz mirror shown. Needless to say, Trevor is well chuffed with his result as it also represents a new personal best for him.
Congratulations Trev, a new personal best is a very special moment in any anglers life!

Stunning Mirror
 After a fairly slow start to the year and excessive pressure on the lake, Alex finally managed to get on some fish and he took full advantage of the opportunity. Casting to showing fish using a chod rig which was baited with a tutti frutti pop up he banked a 17, 26, 31 and 36. The picture shows the 26 as this fish is a stunning looker!

Shanes been Hauling
Long time Proper Job user Shane Poole has been putting the pops to good use again and here’s a copy of the latest email I received from Shane.
Just thought I would drop you an email of my latest catches.
I fished the weekend on one of my syndicate waters and managed to hook 13 fish and land 10 of them. I arrived on Friday and quickly found a small group of fish at one end of the lake. I quickly tied a 13mm squid & octoplus onto my stiff hinge rig and flicked it tight to the overhanging branches on the far bank. I then tied up a solid bag using a squid & octoplus tip hook bait on a short 360 rig and flicked this out to the edge of a growing pads bed. Within 15 mins the ever faithful stiff hinge rig and squid & octoplus combo was away and I had a common of 28lbs 02oz rolling over the net cord. Just as I landed the common the solid bag was away and 15 mins later I landed a very powerful mirror of 29lbs 04oz. After doing the photos and settling down for about an hour, the stiff hinge rig was away again and to my amazement, I landed a mirror of 29lbs 06oz which was only the same fish that I had landed earlier at 29lbs 04oz. I then went on to land another 7 fish ranging from low to high doubles. I also moved in the rain to keep on the fish as it fills me with so much confidence knowing that if I put the rig in the right place, your pop ups will nail um.

 Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th of April was a very good day for David Moncaster. David used a savoury crab pop up to tip his hook bait and cast it amongst a bed of Active bait solutions food baits which had been made for him by Geoff Bowers. The end result was this long lean 41lbs 03oz common that could not resist having a good scoff of what David was offering.
Congratulations David. Top result and yet another 40+ common falling to your tactics.

After seeing Alex’s amazing run of big fish from our venue and him finally letting me in on the bait that was responsible, I was straight on to you for some of your superb pop ups and as you can see, the results speak for themselves when I had this cracking 42lbs 07oz mirror during a three day session, which is yet another forty to add to your collection. Keep it up mate and a big thanks to Alex for the tip off......

Just thought I’d share another great capture with you, this 39lbs 09oz mirror was caught on a 15mm, white tutti, so my 2012 season has got off to a flyer.

 Second time lucky
New proper job user Jacob fished a tricky lake in mid February and managed to capture this beauty with the aid of a Scopex pop up. This was only the second time Jacob had used the proper jobs!
