Scopex Peach
Darren Slinger sent in the following pictures and feedback of a cracking 58lbs Mirror he caught. Here’s what Darren had to say:
Hi Kevin,
Just wanted to let you know that I've just smashed my PB using your bait. A 13mm Orange Scopex & Peach resulted in this 58lb mirror!
Keep up the good work!
Regards Darren
Hi Darren - Many congratulations on your capture of huge carp with great proportions and colouration (very nice indeed). Certainly a day to remember! Also, many thanks for taking the time to send in your picture and bait details, which are much appreciated!
Tutti Frutti
Chris Taylor sent in the following pictures and feedback of a possible (yet to be confirmed) Cumbrian record. Here’s what Chris had to say:
Evening Kevin
Trust you and the family are well. Had a result on your pop ups again. I’ve just had a new lake record from my Carlisle syndicate water @ 42lbs 08oz on a Classic 13mm Tutti Frutti. I’m not sure, but the lake owner is checking to verify if this is the Cumbrian record.
Regards.
Chris.
Hi Chris
Many congratulations on your capture of huge carp (very nice indeed). Certainly a day to remember! You certainly have a habit of catching some huge Northern fish which are truly exceptional! Also, many thanks for taking the time to send in your picture and bait details, which are once again much appreciated!
Nutty Maple Cream
Marc Dean sent in the following picture and feedback about his capture of the biggest fish in the lake. Here’s what Marc had to say:
Hi Kevin
Thank you for the pop ups. A Nutty Maple Cream helped me catch the biggest fish in the lake! 52lbs 8oz Mirror from Lac du Val in France. Great quality bait, consistent buoyancy, and smell so good. Over the moon!!!
Cheers
Marc
Hi Marc
Many congratulation on your result! Biggest fish in the lake and a solid looking chunk too - can't get any better than that! Also, thanks very much for sending in the picture and feedback which is much appreciated!
Nutty Maple Cream (Again)
Rob Watkins sent in the following picture and feedback. Here’s what Rob had to say:
Hi Kevin
Another successful trip with 9 fish for me including a brace of 30lb commons topped off with this one at 33lb 8oz. The 13mm, Nutty Maple Creams in White or Washed Out Pink done the business. Ben also had 6 fish on the 15mm NMC.
Thanks
Rob Watkins
Hi Rob
Many congrats on yours and Bens results and thanks very much for your permission to use your picture and feedback
Pineapple or Squid & Octoplus
Adam Thoroughgood sent in the following pictures and feedback about some serious hauling he’s been doing. Here’s what Rob had to say:
Hello mate been using your pop ups for the last 3 years. the quality and buoyancy is always bang on. Well done mate - and as long as you sell them I will keep buying lol. All of these photos are either on 13mm Squid and Octoplus or Pineapple which have been used as snowman or just pop ups.
Keep making them please.
Many thanks
Adam Thoroughgood
Hi Adam
Many congratulations on your results and thank you very much for sending in the many pictures and feedback from your success on the PJs – which is much appreciated! It looks like you've been very busy hauling and that large common your
holding looks a major hand full!
Great Result!
Devils Dung & Cheese (Keeping It In The Family)
My nephews Lance & Owen Heal have been fishing Olivemead Lake. Olivemead is fairly small in size but the fish know the score and when it comes to bait and tactics, it can be very tricky to nab a bite at the best of times. My nephews tell me that when they see anglers vacate their swims and other anglers move in behind them, everybody seems to do the same thing and fish the same spots and catch next to nothing for their efforts. Therefore a change of approach was called for and the boys asked me what flavour pop up I would recommend and I suggested the Devils Dung & Cheese or the Cream Specials. I suggested these two choices as they are a bit different to the norm. Lance was the first to take the plunge with the Devils Dung and it wasn’t long before he banked a new PB in the shape of a 29lbs 08oz Common. Following on from his earlier success, the very next day a 22lbs 13oz Common slid in the nett using the very same tactics.
Of course - Owen wasn’t slow off the mark (he wanted some of that) and it wasn’t long before a 13mm, White DD & Cheese was on the rig and few hours later a pristine 27lbs Mirror (and new PB) was being held-up for the camera. Here’s what Owen had to say about the event:
I wasn’t going to fish the island as it’s a bit of an obvious spot for other anglers but, as Dad was packing up I seen one bosh out twice by the red buoy (our boundary to the next swims water) so I thought, that’s a sign and with Lance having one off the island a few days earlier on the Devils Dung I thought - just a single about 3 foot off the buoy will do and a few hours later off it went ![]()
Nice result Boys - You will have to show your Old man how to do it . ![]()
Black Pepper Plus
Rhianne Jones sent in the following picture and feedback of chunky 25lbs 06oz Mirror she caught using an 11mm Black Pepper Plus which was fished as a single hook bait,
Hi Rhianne - Congratulations on your capture and many thanks for taking the time to send in your picture and bait details, which are much appreciated!
Devils Dung & Cheese
My nephew Lance returned to Olivemead Lake and put the ever-faithful DD & Cheese to good use by banking the biggest fish in the pond. Albeit a little down in weight compared to previous captures. Never the less, the much sought-after specimen pulled the scales around to 38lbs 10oz and represented a new PB for Lance. Here’s what Lance had to say:
How’s that for a Proper Job Devils Dung ![]()
Congratulation on your new PB - A very special moment in any anglers diary
New "Krill Liver Shrimp” & “BP Plus"
My nephew Owen fished Olivemead Lake armed with a tub of soon to be released Krill Liver Shrimp (KLS) pop ups. Owen fished the KLS pop ups as singles and was rewarded with a chunky 28lbs 11oz mirror which was shortly followed by a 17lbs 10oz linear.
While Owen was fishing, his friend “Stuart Prince” (who was also fishing) was struggling to catch over a few free offerings so Owen advised Stuart to try fishing singles and he gave him some Black Pepper Plus pop ups to try.
Even though Stuart didn’t feel comfortable fishing singles, he followed Owen’s advice and shortly after casting out he banked this 22lbs 14oz linear – Job done!
Coconut Specials
Luke Bridgman very kindly sent in this picture of a heavily scaled mirror and here’s what Luke had to say:
Hi Kevin
Thank you for the pop ups. Here’s a recent capture on the 13mm washed out pink coconut specials, they are basically a fish a bait
Hi Luke. Thanks very much for sending in the picture and feedback which is much appreciated!
All-Sorts
Dan Cook sent in the lots of pictures (too many to show here) of carp he’d caught on a variety of different Proper Jobs. So, I selected 3 pictures at random. Here’s what Dan had to say about the PJs:
Hi Kevin
No monsters in the lake we are fishing currently, the biggest fish is about 42 at the right time of year. With about 5 or 6 lovely old lower 30s backing it up. So, these upper 20s (after spawning) are great results for the lake we are fishing.
Cheers mate.
Many congrats on your results using the PJs and thanks very much for your feedback/sending in the pictures which is much appreciated!!
Change of Bait Produced the Goods!
Mike Smith sent in the following picture and feedback about a session he had with his young son and how changing to a Camo Brown - BP Plus put a fish on the bank. Here’s what Mike had to say:
Hi Kevin, just a quick email to say thanks for some recent pop ups I bought.
I took my son night fishing and at half 3 in the morning I had a run, turned out to be a 24lb mirror from my newly joined syndicate lake.
In a previous session, I had fish feeding all over me and couldn't buy a bite. I decided to change to something less blatant, and this seemed to work for me. My son was over the moon when he saw the carp. So, I've attached a photo for you to see. It's one of the nicer mirrors in the lake, not scaley, but lovely colouration, big shoulders and a huge mouth.
Cheers again!
Hi Mike
Many congratulations on your capture and thanks very much for your feedback which is much appreciated!! As for the picture: What a cracking shot that is! And one to look back on in say 20-30 years.
Black Beauties
John Dunn sent in the following picture and feedback about zig fishing with the Black Beauties. Here’s what John had to say:
Hi Kevin
Just caught these on the Black Beauties, 11mm Squid & Octoplus on zigs. Biggest was the one called Half-Lin at 31lb 2oz.
I'll be in touch shortly for another pot. I also had another 3 other decent fish on those with zigs this year. Never tried them on the bottom, maybe I should.
Kind Regards
John Dunn
Hi John
Congratulations on the capture of some fine specimens and thanks very much for sending in your feedback and pictures which are much appreciated! Those carp look clean cut and young

Craig Barwell sent in the following pictures and feedback about his recent trip to France. Here’s what Craig had to say:
Hi Kevin
We had 17 fish in 4 days and 5 nights. All fish come on your Scopex & Strawberry. I've attached a picture of a double take of 40s and I’ve also attached one of the best-looking fish I've ever caught on them as well - They are a cracking bait!!
Hi Craig
Congratulations - That's a cracking picture and what a result :-)) – Great memories!!
Spice Blend
John Dunn sent in the following picture and feedback about a short day session. Here’s what Craig had to say:
Hello Kevin
Thanks for the popups. Had a short session Sunday and caught a fish 26lb 11oz on the spice blend fished as a snowman topper on one of my crab & plum fishmeal boilies. Only had the rods in for half an hour when it went off!
Fished Tees Valley Lakes again for this one, feel free to use the picture for your own purposes if you wish.
Cheers
John Dunn
Hi John
